Model Number: jvm1790sk01 Brand: GE Age: Less than 1 year
I just bought the mounting braket to a GE conventional microwave so I can mount the microwave above the stove. . I have no idea how to install it, and the mounting braket and screw package did not come with directions. If a can get step by step instructions that would help.

It seems for every model there is a different bracket. Is there a chance you could post a picture of the bracket? Some have paper templets, some just have a metal plate with lines of holes for securing it to studs. If not a picture a detailed discription of the mounting bracket.

Hi DJ:
On your post click on the (upper right) model number. On the left side under select diagram click on box three. This is probably what your mounting bracket looks like. Put the mounting bracket on the microwave. Measure from the bottom of the bracket to the top of the microwave. Now take this measurement and measure from the bottom of the cabinet down the wall. This is where the bottom of the mounting bracket will be. Add at least an 1/8th of an in. Now mark the studs. The bottom holes in the bracket are for screwing into the studs. The holes on the top of each wing, hopefully they hit a stud, will probably need a toggle bolt. (See diagram) On the front top of the microwave there is a hole on each side (See Diagram). Measure from the side to the center of the hole & from the front to the center of the hole. Write these measurements down. Now with help put the microwave in. You will have to take these measurements into the cabinet above the microwave. Use the measurements, mark them, and drill down. Using the proper screws into the microwave & you should be done. Hopefully this will give you an idea how to get going. good luck. Mike |
