ok, I have a GE XL1800 SpaceMaker over the range, Went to cook vegetables push the button, 2 min later it beeped sensor malfuction reset timer put the button again same thing.OK let push the express button for 2 min. nothing 2 min latter time ran down but no heat. unpluged the unit reset the clock, Ok turned off power for a day came back next day, put in a cold cup of coffee push the express button heard a deep humm then a pop the humming stopped 1 min later the timmer stopped I got cold coffee, I open the front lots of oil and uckie stuff like grease, clean it as best I could saw nothing wrong tested fuses all is fine pushed the 1 min express button got sparks off the top red wire conected to the capacitor, not cool there was a deep humm before it happened. Ok tested every thing again clean disconnected the wires from the capacitor black, red and white push the express button heard a deep humm pushed the stop button before it arc or sparked or worse. Any ideas as to what might be the problem?
