Microwave Gasket or inside seal replace/repair
Model Number: JMV1190BY 001 Brand: GE Age: More than 10 years
The inside seal of on the microwave side wall has gotten damaged, there is a 5mm x 5mm hole in the seal on the top side. This is the seal that runs around the inside of the microwave between the side wall and the bottom. It got burned because the rack (which has been replaced) was missing part of it's protective coating and it burned the seal. My question is: what is the purpose of the seal? Is it just to make it easier to clean or does it hold in "damaging Rays"? The microwave works fine, I did a radiation test and there is no leaks. Can this seal be repaired or replaced? Thanks for your help
