Our GE jvm 1860 microwave ( serial # FA9246315, march 2001 manuf date, but puchase date is late 2001), stopped heating recently. All other electrical components still work.... internal fan comes on,external fan, lites, clock, etc.

From info from one of your past forums , I turned the defrost on and can hear a relay click in and out periodically. If it is the magnetron, how can I troubleshoot electrically with my multimeter. Do I have to remove it from the mounting position ( hanging above stove from cabinet) Is it worth changing or just buy a new microwave. It is 10 years old.
