Reference: Frigidaire household microwave oven (Model#: FMV145KS3)

About a year ago, my wife and I purchased a 2-year old house with a Frigidaire household microwave oven mounted above the stove. According to the label, it was manufactured in September 2003.

We have never been able to get all of the lights underneath the microwave to work properly. I recently replaced both bulbs with new GE 40-watt incandescent appliance bulbs WB36X10003; however, only the night light function works. When I push the Surface Light button, Bright Light shows on the screen but nothing illuminates until I push the Surface Light button again to turn on the Night Light which is extremely low. The microwave is setup so that you push the Surface Light button once to turn on the Bright Light for cooking on the stove top, push the Surface Light button a second time to turn on the Night Light, and then push the Surface Light button a third time to turn off the lights. Each time you push the Surface Light button, the screen confirms your choice (Bright Light, Night Light, or Off).

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time and assistance.

Remove the bottom panel and check for 120V to the surface lights when chosen the Bright Light.

If there is no 120V then the control board has to be replaced.

- The part number for the control board is AP3214911

I have the opposite problem with my microwave/range hood. I replaced a burn out bulb with the suggested bulb, at a cost of over $7. The night light hasn't worked since. The second bulb has burnt out and I've replaced it with a $2 bulb.
Any advice on repairing the night light featured would be appreciated. :)

This option operates by the control board and looks like the problem is there. In order to provide the right part number I need the complete model number of the microwave or you cab call Appliance Parts Pros customer service (877-477-7278).
