GE Spacemaker issues
Model Number: JVM1650CH01 Brand: GE Age: 1 - 5 years
We are having issues with our GE microwave, JVM1650CH01. It seemed to start when trying to pop popcorn, it starts but then stops after a few seconds. The display resets and asks to have the time etc inputted but will just reset when you go through that process. My guess is that replacing the Assembly power control module - main p/n AP2631591 should do the trick but wanted to check here before I went down that $125 road.

no, at this point it does it for everything. its really not operational at all. just seemed to start with popcorn, probably just coincidence

Most likely the problem is a bad magnetron (#73 on the diagram). You have to remove the microwave from the cabinet and remove the outer case to access the part.
