Default Kitchenaid Optima Microwave
Model Number: KBHC109JSS03   Brand: Kitchen Aid   Age: 1 - 5 years

How do you replace the bulb in this unit? I was told that only a Kitchen Aid repair technician can do this. I know how to read schematics and have testing equipment. This can't be rocket science. Please help! Thanks.

Pull the unit from cabinet and remove the to panel closest to the control assembly. The bulb is halogen and usually will have pink wires running to it. It will be held in by two metal clips and fits into a glass lens assembly. Use your meter to veryify the bulb is open, but most likely, that is the problem.

One more question, Brian. If the controller is closed, will I need to replace it? If so, do you happen to have the part number? Thanks again,

Doug
