KitchenAid Microwave Oven/Hood Inlet Cover
Model Number: KHHS179LSS1 Brand: Kitchen Aid Age: 5 - 10 years
My father made the mistake of putting something in the oven that ended up melting half of the yellow stirrer cover/shield*. Rather than argue with him about whose fault it was I have opted to take care of things myself this time around
 . I have two questions:1. Will the damage affect the oven's performance? 2. If enough plastic melted so that a hole was made in the cover does that pose any risk to the internal components? I haven't turned the oven back on since it happened and have cleaned as much dirt and debris from the damaged area as possible.
