Our microwave recently stopped working completely. About 2 weeks ago I had thought it sounded rather quiet, but it still heated the food so I did not proceed further. We've inherited the microwave through the purchase of a home and I had no way to tell if it was normally quiet or not. Now the microwave will not work at all.
I've pulled the three switches located on the door rack and checked each with an OHM meter for 0 resistance when depressed. All checked out ok, both when removed from the unit and with the door closed shut.
I also located a typical 20 amp fuse offset from this area and checked it for 0 resistance as well.
All three door switches and the fuse checked out with passing grades. With this being a specific power issue, am I missing a switch or fuse location?
Another thing I noticed is that the cooling fan (blue fan) located within the unit fell out when I removed enclosure to check for the fuse location. That may have been the cause of the low-noise issue, and I'm a bit concerned if that fan was not working what kind of damage could have been done.
Please help, hate to buy a new microwave at this time.
