I have an F3 Error code on my GE Spacemaker XL1400 microwave (Manufactured 1998). So far, my research indicates that I need to replace the key panel. None of the buttons work on the microwave at this point with F3 displayed constantly. This happened a few months ago and eventually it cleared as long as I didn't try to set the clock. Basically nothing was on the display but the buttons worked and the microwave heated fine. F3 is now displayed and microwave doesn't work. I want to purchase part# AP2026078 for my black microwave - but I want to confirm I am ordering the correct part based on my error code. Please Help...

Yes, you have a shorting membrane keypad.

If and when an oven exhibits this code or is coming on or doing anything by itself, this is very dangerous and can result in a fire.

So until it is repaired, please leave it unplugged or leave the door open when it's not in use, and please do not leave it running unattended.
