Latch Replacement
Model Number: jvm1533d002 Brand: GE Age: 5 - 10 years
need to replace the latch on the door. how does the door come apart?

accessing the latch assembly
Don't do what I did on my Whirlpool. The door does not have to come off of the oven for this, leave it on.
The choke cover (#11) can be removed by using a flat head screwdriver and "gently" prying it up all the way around the door until it comes off. If you force it, it can crack. You should then be able to view the latch assembly and determine where to go from here.
