Cool Microwave Door Handle
Model Number: GH518XPS4   Brand: Whirlpool   Age: 1 - 5 years

I just received my replacement handle for my microwave but am not too sure how to go about installing it. Is there any type of manual or exploded view of the door assembly that will assist me in doing this.

Thanks,
J. Weiss

Hi weissjp

The model number you provided is incorrect. Please, double check it and post the right model number.

Gene.

Unfortunately it is not clear from the break down diagram how to disassemble the door in order to replace the door handle.

If you can post a pictures shown the inner door panel and the the side door panel the handle is, it will help to provide the most accurate advise.

I, too, have a whirlpool gh5184xps and I am trying to replace the door handle. For the life of me, I can't figure out how to get to the inside screws! Can you or anyone please assist?

Thanks!

You can find the complete instructions in the service manual (page 4-27). I do not think you have to remove the door from the microwave, just remove the choke cover but you can prefer to do it.

- The part number for the door handle is AP3872693

This is EXACTLY what I needed. While it wasn't as easy as reading the instructions, I was successful in replacing the handle.

I also read that they have a touch-up paint kit. Sounds like a faulty build to me, but oh well.

Thanks!!!
