Model Number: MA-20038 (GOLDSTAR) Brand: -other- Age: 1 - 5 years
My wife accidentally plugged the our microwave Goldstar MA-20038 to a 220V socket instead of 120V socket. The microwave was then connected to 120V socket (correctly) but is dead. No sparks, no smell like burned, it just do nothing.
I disassembled it and looked a regular fuse (250V, like a small tube, but I usually see similar fuses with a glass, transparent, this is covered by something like paper). I have no way to test the fuse, so I used another fuse (a transparent one). Still dead. I connected both cables (where fuse is installed) and still nothing. That fuse is the first thing where the one electrical cable is connected. Then it go to another part, is like a transistor and have 2 plain terminals attached to a small cylinder. The black part says "PWC", then some kind of logo, and "PW-2". That black cylinder finished to a rounded silver "cup" with this inscription: PW-2N 6099 90 / 75 What's that small thing? This can be the problem? What is damaged when plugged to a higher voltage socket? Is there a replacement part? Thanks a lot for your help Daniel Related Models |
