Model Number: KEMC308KSS04 Brand: Kitchen Aid Age: 5 - 10 years
The outer glass for our microwave shattered by itself (when no one was at home). Looks like this is a common problem with this model. I ordered part # AP3010082 from appliance part pro to replace the broken glass.
While we attempted to replace the broken outer glass, we noticed the glass is stuck to the door - looks like there is some glue around the stainless steel frame, where it's hard to get the glass off. We tried to separate it, but the glass just breaks into fine dust and is not easy. Besides just buying a door glass assembly (part # AP3126293) is there any other way to separate the glass from the frame? Also, do you just sell the door separately? I already have the glass and just need the stainless steel door. I wonder if this is a scam by Kitchen Aid - to make you buy the the door and the glass together! Ugh, will never be buying KA appliances again. Thanks, Akila Ads By Google Related Models |

Akila, Could this be the part you actually want or need ? Part number: AP3126293 I presume you've got the door at least partially dismantled or removed. Good Luck,

Akila, If you want to go in that direction, I imagine you could carefully remove the glass with a putty knife, then clean out the sealant adhesive, and repalce the glass, etc. But you'd need to be extremely careful not to damage the s/s panel. I've never done anything like that, but that would be the way I would go at it.
