When I built my home 6 years ago, I purchased all Kitchen Aid appliances.
I had to replace my 30" oven/ microwave combo once due to a wire arching and burning a hole in the bottom of the oven compartment. I have had more parts replaced on the dishwasher at a cost more than the unit. I am hand washing dishes, because they dont get cleaned in the washer. I am having to replace all of the slideout trays and door compartments (even the lid on the butter compartment is broke) in the refridge due to the plastice breaking. I have replaced the ice maker due to the parts being plastic. I have had to replace all of the gears in my mixer. Then today the tension spring and something??? else have broke in the microwave...The only item I have had no problem with is my stainless steel sink. I will never purchase a Kitchen Aid product again. When I sent a message to Kichen Aid asking if 2004 was a bad year for their products. They just sent me a # for customer service.
