Sparks flying

Model Number: JE1460WF Brand: GE Age: 1 - 5 years

Sparks started flying inside my microwave after 1 1/2 years of use. I read elsewhere that this might be b/c the canopy mica has built up too much grease. Is this common? What part number is the canopy mica?
