Hi everyone. Overall I'm quite pleased with this microwave. However, over the course of the past 2 weeks or so the alert sound (whatever you call it, the sound it makes when it's done heating something) has faded out to nothing. Quite annoying. Is this an easy fix? Can I do it myself? The thing just went out of warranty.

Thanks for any help...

Hi Lori,

The buzzer is a part of the control board and you have to replace the whole thing to fix the disappeared alert sound. The job is pretty simple but I'm not sure if it's worth almost 150 bucks.

- The part number for the control board (PCB) is AP4262913

Here are the break down diagrams for the Maytag microwave Model MMV4205BAS

Well, suddenly the loss of that alert buzzer isn't so annoying! Thanks so much, Gene. I really appreciate you taking the time to answer this little question of mine... and to even provide the schematics and part number! Wow! Merry Christmas.
