Possible that while you replaced the light bulbs you shorted out the part of the control board which operates with this lights and the fan.
Here are the break down diagrams for the GE microwave Model JVM1630WB004 Gene.

We see (and repair) this a lot. The problem is on the control panel.
This light failure often occurs when a bulb goes out and the filament shorts, or when the bulbs are removed or installed without first unplugging the oven from the power line. Either can cause such a failure on the controller. This can often also affect the exhaust fan operation, too. The lights and fan can be inoperable or stuck on too. |

Do you by chance have a control panel or circuit board that has already been repaied for this model of GE Microwave - since my microwave is operational, all except for the oven surface lights and vent fan - I thought if I could pay you for the repaired parts - that I would avoid the down time for the microwave and thus ship my defective part back to you to replace the one I paid you for?? Please advise - thanks

Assuming yours in the same model Model JVM1630WB004 the part number would be Part number: WB27X10473
If your model is different, just look it up at that link by model number and look for the "smart board". At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes. Then you unplug the keypad (as per the photo below) and move the new circuit board into your frame. ![]() Some connectors on the relays may have a lock: ![]() |
