Model Number: MMV5156AAS Brand: Maytag Age: 5 - 10 years
Microwave oven model number MMV5156AAS.
Recent situation - loud noise after pushing power button, doesn't heat water. Service Manual troubleshooting procedure was followed, determined HV Diode was faulty (infinite resistance both directions). Went to appliance parts place to procure new diode, the place looked at old diode to compare/verify and said the old one was burned up. Replaced HV diode, re-assembled microwave, tested to the same result - loud noise and no heating. One other thing noticed in troubleshooting was HV capacitor did not have a charge. Shorted terminals and shorted to ground without any display of discharge. HV capacitor resistance is infinity momentarily, then progressing to 9 meg ohms. Product service manual says infinity between both terminals - Tech sheet found inside oven itself says between both terminals begins infinity then progresses to 10 meg ohms. Is my HV capacitor bad or is it the transformer or magnetron? Thanks in advance! Ads By Google Related Models |
