Model Number: JEM31 Brand: GE Age: 5 - 10 years
The microwave work fine except for the heating part. Everything else seems functional. The clock did not reset or anything like that. The operator at the time thought they may have heard a pop when it happened, but he is not sure because he was not standing in the room when it happened?
Here is what I have heard: Magnetron Tube Diode It seems the mag tube is the most popular answer, but what else could it be and how would i test for this so that I can be sure I know exactly what the problem is? Thanks in advance for any help Ads By Google Related Models |

Unplug the oven. Carefully remove the wires connected to the capacitor, remembering where they belong. take one of the short wires and attach it to one of the cap terminals. Touch and hold it to the other terminal. I just leave it attached to both terminals as long as I'm working, even though it's overkill.
As for the parts: I believe you can order them from this website. Last edited by magician59 : 11-19-2008 at 11:58 AM. Reason: spelling |
