I have a GE Spacemaker XL microwave oven. Over a period of years (it got light use), the contacts behind the touchpad keys went from "always work" to "work intermittently." Over time, it got harder to get the keys to make contact (I think). Now, I can press a key and the light in the oven goes on, I hear a clicking, and the time counts down. But that's all that happens!

Is this simply a Touchpad problem where the panel needs replacement? (GE Part AP2026344) Or is there a bigger problem? Since the microwave is so old (1996) I'd appreciate some help: Repair or replace?
