I need help in deciding whether to repair or replace my dead microwave. Here's the problem:
1. Input time and temp, hit "start", motor noise or some kind of noise starts behind the display, display shows "pause" and microwave icon flashes in lower left of display. Hitting "clear" clears the display but the noise continues for about minute then stops. Opening door doesn't stop noise.

2. Also, the touchpad sound is not the same. When you press the touchpad, it sounds like a much lower sound and almost like a grinding noise.

3. If I open the door, not inputing anything on the touchpad, the motor noise behind the display starts. It stops when I close the door.

This is an over the range microwave. Any help or info would be greatly appreciated. Should I fix it myself, call a tech, or replace?

Thanks
