Model Number: PEB2060SM1SS Brand: GE Age: Less than 1 year
I was just cleaning the GE Profile (PEB2060SM1SS -- Manufactured 3/08) and noticed the top of the cooking cavity and sides are separating. The problem is most noticeable on the rear (ie, looking into the microwave with the door open), although the right and left seam is also involved. I can fit 5 sheets of copier/printer paper through the gap.
It looks like there was some sort of filler used at the factory. I also found what could be either bubbles drips in the spray-on finish around the door. I thought it was water left over from cleaning. Please see the pics, attached. I'd like to know if this is something that should cause enough concern to warrant the use of a vacation day to wait for a repairman. The unit is under warranty.
