Model Number: JE1860 Brand: GE Age: 5 - 10 years
I have a GE Profile Microwave, model JE1860.
All has been fine and suddenly no heating capacity. The control panel, timer, etc seem to work fine. The glass tray and rotator motor and fan motor seem fine. The light works fine. Bad news is it will not heat a cup of water. Also notice that the sound is louder and somewhat deeper than when all was working well. Any help would be appreciated. Any ideas on part replacement - is it the magnetron or a transformer? Do these things wear out? Thanks, Mark Related Models |

Hi Mark,
The first thing I would check is the upper door interlock switch and the diode (#6006 on the break down diagram). If there is nothing wrong then the problem is a bad magnetron (#1428 on the break down diagram). In order to provide the right part number I need the rest of the model number and the result of your troubleshooting. Gene.
