abadfish, my brother from a different mother. Just wanted to say thank you for helping me fix my refrigerator and microwave. You are the man. One quick question, let say I'm heating something in the MW, and I decide to open the door, I get "Sensor Error". Is that normal?

Abadfish66, I also have a GE microwave with the exact same symptoms as repairgarcia. Model JVM1350WW Serial # HS973257S. Do you believe still a magnetron & diode issue? Any tips for diag and repair? Thanks....

I have a GE Profile Spacemaker 2.0 Microwave. It quit working about 2 weeks ago. The panel appears to work, the lights come on, the fan door opens and the tray spins. But ZERO heat, I tried different power levels and defrost.

Abadfish66, will those instructions you posted work on my model?

Model - JVM2070SK02

I have a multimeter and I plan to check the diode before I replace the Mag.

Thanks.

I opened up my microwave, the unit cam apart just a little different (front vent cover didn't come off).

I think my diode is dead.

The diode reads "over limit" resistance in both directions.

The Mag reads "zero" resistance with the leads on either direction.

I'll replace the diode and cross my fingers.

I have a GE microwave oven model # jvm3660wf001 and I would like to know how to replace the magnetron tub. Which screws should I remove and can you provide me with a diagram that shows the location of the screws that I should take out. Also, can you provide me with the steps for de energizing the capacitors.

Thanks,

I replaced my diode and they microwave was still not heating.
My Magnetron was still under warranty, so I called GE.
The GE service guy didn't have the part on his truck, so he offered to mail me the Magnetron (free). He did charge me for the $99 service call (labor was going to be another $100 if he did the work).
I installed the Mag last night and it micro is working again.

Robert, I followed the directions posted by Abadfish and it was fairly easy. I only had a little trouble getting the Magnetron out and the new one into the holes. Mine had 4 small nuts on the top holding it in place. The GE Tech discharges the Capacitor with his "high voltage" needle nose pliers. He just touches the tip of the pliers to each side of the cap.

Good Luck

I'm still a little irritated that my $600 microwave broke after 3 years. I almost had to pay $200 to get it fixed. If the Mag wasn't under warranty then it would have cost about $400 to fix it...grrr
