well it's all fixed. by way of closing this thread, the problem was with the thermal fuse. it was fairly easy to put back together, and all-in-all a simple job. total cost was $20 for the fuse and... |

Well I put it back together with the blue wire on the top terminal and the white one on the bottom, and it worked just fine. Thanks to all the experts on this forum. |

Oops - I removed the flame sensor from the dryer but forgot to track which terminal gets the blue wire and which gets the white one. Could someone tell me if I promise never to make such a stupid... |
