what do i do if my freezer gets iced up in back. i already changed defrost heater, motherboad and fan. gts22wc

freezer smells like smoke - smoke smell in freezer
i have a top freezer from ge. it smells like smoke in there, still freezes good. took out ice maker, but still have the problem. anybody got any suggestions other than to scrap it?
