Central A/C not cooling
the air conditioning unit have several possibilities including: Bad capacitor, burned off wire, bad compressor, & the list goes on.

1. it may be dirty filter, Especially if this whistling has started recently, check your filter.
2: Gaps in the duct. Try to hear where exactly the whistle is coming from.

Check your thermostat to make sure it is in the "wires are connected correctly" . Ensure the thermostat is set on the appropriate setting
