You have stripped teath on the timer shaft. You will need to take the timer apart to fix it. Also, make sure the teath on the knob are ok too. Unfortunately, they do not sell the shaft and the timer...

That is a mode shift coil under the spin basket, need special tools to get at and labor intensive. Few servicers, including me, know, or care to know how to fix it!! Re-post as a mode shift coil...
