Whirlpool DOTT dryer, you have 120 volts at the motor??? and it is dead? if this is so, about the only thing could be a bad motor if voltage at the motor itself , altho I have never seen one go bad...

No, that resister advances the timer in the auto cycles....if the motor is dead you have lost voltage somewhere....wall plug to cord, cord to terrminal block, to timer to start switch to door swtich...
