I found a simple solution to your problem. I worked for me. Remove the float assembly (top Portion). It comes out very easily. Take a short piece of tubing (from any lowes or home depot) that...

the bottom of the float has a slim plastic rod with a stopper shaped end on it. The rod does not detach from the float. If I cut 1/8th of an inch of of the end, i will be cutting the stopper end off...
