The condensation line on my ac unit was plugged. Started leaking inside the house. We were leaving on vacation the next day, so I went under the crawl space of the house and cut the condensation line so it would drip under the house instead of in the house.
1) Do I need a trap in the condensation line? I figure the trap is clogged, but I'm not 100% sure. A guy at Lowe's said if the line was running from the unit straight outside the wall and not into a sewer line, that I didn't need a trap?
2) The coil pack is on the floor, when looking at it to check to see if it was frozen, I noticed black specks ( mold ?) on the ac coils. What do I need to do?
