Model Number: 396GAW (Payne) Brand: -other- Age: More than 10 years
Our 396GAW furnace sometimes takes up to 15 seconds to light. I hear a spark-spark-spark-spark, and the pilot comes on right away, but the main burners sometimes don't come on until 15 seconds (in rare cases, more).
It's been doing this for a few years now and hasn't caused any explosions (I didn't know this might be dangerous). Is this normal, and if not, how can I adjust the unit so it lights more quickly? The gas valve is relatively new (5 years), and this week I replaced the logic board and firebox limit switch to fix a fan relay problem. It is the same furnace described here: Furnace Repair 396GAW Ads By Google Related Models |
