Hello,

Our AC decided not to work. We have the freon checked and all is well. The unit freezes and condenses. We have to shut it off to defrost and all. We had two people checking and essentially were told that the TX valve needs replacing. Is this something reasonably easy to do? Are there other aspects that we should check to make sure that this is the problem?
Oh, and we are not sure how old the unit is. For sure is more than 5 years old.

Thanks. Be well
Miriam

The TXV is not a DIY fix. Have you replaced the filter? is the blower wheel and evap coil clean?
