Model Number: AP125HD Brand: Amana Age: 1 - 5 years
Lets see what the techs on this site are made of.
This is a 240v "Amana" AC/Dehumidifier/Heater unit ghetto rigged from our friends at Haier to work in your standard 120v wall source. Here's my problem: The Condensor fan motor (CFM) wont start. Here's the scoop: I was getting 120 to the fan motor and it wasn't spinning. I dissasembled the fan motor and found an open thermal fuse (remember this.) I replaced the thermal fuse. I tested it. The fan motor wouldn't kick on unless I manually give it a jump start now. I ordered the 9uf 250v (lol) capacitor from sears direct (sorry arp.com). I installed it. Same thing. Still wont kick on. (I wonder why the thermal fuse opened.) Here's how it works. The unit cycles on the CFM when the compressor kicks on. When the compressor kicks on I'll see the blower wheel rock a little bit, however it does not give it the juice it needs to really get it started. Verbal Schematic: 5 wires enter the CFM. 2 wires (brown and white) go from the 9uf 250v cap to the CFM coils (one of which are connected to the thermal fuse I replaced from obvious compressor over heating.) 1 blue wire connects from the CFM coils to the 50uf 250 mega capacitor that controls all the other fans (which works because the cooling fan works) and the Yellow and Red wire that give the coils that give the fan motor 120 volts from the mainboard during proper cycling time. Summery: I replaced the 9uf cap I replaced the CMF thermal fuse Still wont start unless I do this manually. Now I need help. Ads By Google Related Models |
