Did your furnace fan stop working? If so, the problem may be the start/run capacitor and not the motor. This is especially true if you can hear a humming sound coming from the fan and/or there is a burnt electric smell. First, power off the furnace and let the motor cool down for an hour. This resets the thermal overload circuit breaker. Next turn on the furnace motor. Does it hum but not run? If so, manually spin the fan by hand. Does the blower work fine now? If so, it is almost certain to the start/run capacitor as shown in the photo. The part costs $12 and is easy to replace.
