My brother changed the fuse box to a circuit breaker box, and hooked up the wrong wire to its spot (220) and it started smoking but could not tell where from.

When put together right it does not work.

Oddly no fuses were blown.

What was afected, and what should I do?

What are the units heat pump gas furnace or electric heat??
