Haier Window A/C compressor not working like it should

Brand: -other- Age: 1 - 5 years

I have my window a/c set at 77 but the compressor comes on at 88 and turns off at 87 or 86, it never gets below 86 (I thought it was 10 degrees off so I set it to 68 but it doesn't matter)...I searched online and some people have said the thermostat needs replaced and other people have said the PC Board in it needs replaced

I have cleaned the inside coil (behind the filter) the best I could, cleaned the filter, cleaned the front cover, wiped the dust off the fan blades but the window a/c won't get below 86 (or to the set temp 77).......the first year I got the a/c it remained nice and cool at 77 but not anymore
