Angry cycle
Model Number: GUI115D50A   Brand: Amana   Age: More than 10 years

I turned the power off to the unit after not getting heat. The furnace cycles fine the first time but will not recycle. If I turn the power on and off again the unit again cyles fine the first time but goes no further.

On cycles after the first, the plug glows, the burner fires but after a few seconds the burner cuts off. Again, it only does this after the first cycle sucessfully completes.

Basically, if I continue to reset the furnace after each cycle it works great. If I leave it alone it only cycles once then continue to try to fire without sucess.

Default lockout

There's a safety device shutting this unit off and there's a lockout relay purposely leaving the unit off... You'll need a pro to troubleshoot this one... Turning the power off and back on resets the relay... Could be one of a number of problems or a combination... Search out all the safety devices in the wiring diagram and investigate each one is all I can recommend... good luck...
