My wall mount AC did not survive the winter and now has a very noisy fan motor bearing. The books that came with it show a fan motor (309630602) available and I would feel comfortable changing it if I could get to the screws. However, the screws that remove the fan motor are in a place where it appears I need to remove the condenser first. The blower needs to come off and is buried with a styrofoam box that has a tag on it saying "Do not remove styrofoam parts".
Can the condenser unit be moved out of the way enough to get into the fan without damaging the pipes that feed it? Possibly the fan assembly comes out as a unit without disassembling the condenser/evaporator parts at all.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. The new motor is $179 so I would like to be sure I can change it before ordering one.
