Converting a Vent hood to non-vent recirculating
Model Number: KICU265HSS1 Brand: Kitchen Aid Age: 1 - 5 years
I bought a houseful of KItchenaid appliances in 2007 From LOWES including an Island Vent hood that I was told could be converted to a nonvented recirculating model by buying a kit. The man at Lowes ordered the kit, which turned out to be only the exterior cover which had some grills on the side. There was no charcoal filter or diverter however. I called Kitchenaid, I called the man at Lowes who also called Kitchenaid but they kept insisting I should have gotten everything i needed from the kit I ordered. Anyway, I am going to order kit 8285507 and I hope this is what i need. However for $42 or so I am afraid it will not contain the divertor and the 2 vent extension pieces that are in the picture explaining the installation . These are explained as being included in kit part number 8212716 but I have this and the original boxes and there was no diverter, extensions or charcoal filter in them, unless the electrician threw something away wrapped in cardboard which they did one other time. This has been going on for 2 years, and I finally had to give up for awhile before I went crazy. My husband doesn't do anything technical and I can usually figure it out, but... I am at my wit's end. It would also be good if I could install it, the vent hood is up and attached to the ceiling but it has a big space in it. I really need to sell my house now but my real estate agent says we cannot show it until we get this thing fixed and working. HELP HELP HELP
