Model Number: FAK124RV1 Brand: Frigidaire Age: 1 - 5 years
Due to a wiring problem. the unit input saw 240 volts. The fuse blew but the problem is more than just the fuse. After fixing the input voltage and removing the transformer from the input, the fuse still blows. We are in a remote location so we need to know what to test to know if replacing the circuit board and transformer will repair the problem.

Here is the parts breakdown includes a crude wiring diagram
Model Search I would unplug everything except power going into the control board. If it still blows the fuse then the board is shot. Unfortunately an electronic device will blow before a fuse can melt. If it does not blow, plug the external device in one at a time till it does blow. I would use the following order Transformer, Sensor, Sensor, Display Board, Fan Motor, Compressor. If it is the board I would still check the components with a meter, you do not want to replace the board and have it blow right away. Make sure the unit is unplugged and remove the wires from any device you are testing so you do not measure an alternate/parallel circuit path. Check for shorts to the case/earth ground and between windings. Check the motor capacitor, using a meter will only tell you that it will take a charge will not tell you if it is breaking down at higher voltage levels but if it is a dead short it will stay at 0 ohms. Remember to discharge it before test.
