Gentlemen,
Turned on heater and did not hear fan run. Gave it a thump and fan blade struck terminal on rear of thermostat/switch. Crack, boom, pow! And of course circuit breaker popped. Thermostat is "toast".
This heater was installed around 1950 and if I can locate the part it will outlast me. The Rating Tag says the following:
Thermador-a Division of Norris Industries
Los Angeles, California, U.S.A.
Cat. No. NBW 162a Watts 1650
Cy. 50-60 Volts 240 A.C. Ser. No. 001405
