no heat

Model Number: aap-12dr1fa Brand: Admiral Age: 1 - 5 years

I purchased an admiral portable air conditioner/with a heater mode,which has never worked. The product use and care manual reads like it was printed overseas. I have called the 800 number,and although they have been patient, I still have not resolved this problem.. I switch to heat mode andthe icon and comes up.. but no heat, only fan...Is there a fuse ??
Cannot get parts list..lokks like 2003 manual from kelon usa
any suggestions ?
