When I turn on the AC the compressor kicks on and blows cold air but only for about a minute then it kicks off and won't come back on unless I turn the unit off and let it set for about ten minutes. Then it just does the same thing again. Could this be a thermostat or capacitor problem, or is there something wrong with the compressor? It's Sunday and 95 in the shade. Help me please.

Note: This work should be done by someone who possesss EPA certification.

Check system operating pressures with manifold gauges and you will probably find the system is low on refrigerant. Find leak and repair. Vacuum refrigerant lines and recharge system to proper subcooling or superheat.

There is an electrical problem possibly the capacitor or worse case the compressor.
