Occassionally, I will leave the fan running when A.C. is off. My brother says this can damage the AC unit. I disagree. Can you resolve this question

You can run the fan as much as you want.It's called yankee air conditioning. Canada air Polar express

Your brother has it backwards. You can run the fan without the compressor, but not the compressor without the fan.
