thermdor cook top

I turn the knob to light the gas burners but the ignitor does not shut off. I have tried to reconnect but that dosent help. I am forced to unplug the unit and then two of the burners will operate but I need to light them with a match. This is the second problem that I have had with this cooktop in two years. The last time it cost $300.00 to fix.

can you give me some advice. ?
