Default broan range hood repair

Hello,

I have a Broan allure II range hood, model # QS236WW.

After replacing the fuse the exhaust fan is working properly. The lights do come on, they also stay on. (Unless I go outside, down to the basement and throw the breaker. Inconvenient in a Montana winter.)

The lights will brighten on the high intensity setting, when tried to be turned off they return to medium intensity with a slight flicker, and at the low setting they shine approx. like the middle setting except no flicker. The lights will not go down to the night light level.

On all settings the lights will not turn off.

I'm left with 3 suspects. The auto transformer, the isolation transformer both are wired into the connector for the lights wiring, and the control panel. I have tested the auto transformer but am unsure about the meaning of the results. I measured across the blue and white wires leading from the auto transformer to the lights central connector and read 125V AC and trying to meas. resistance made my meter spasm.

Testing across the 2 blue and 1 yellow small wires leaving the isolation transformer gives readings of about 3 on the 50 v test range. Should these voltages vary when testing different pairs of wires, so that might give me hi,med and low light settings??

Finally the $155 + shipping control panel. Is there a component that I could test and replace ( hopefully it sells for 2.79 at radio shack). Or do I need to send in the control unit to Broan ?

Help on what's next or ?'s about add'l measurements would be appreciated
greatly.

Thanks
