moving a refridgerator

Appliance Parts from AppliancePartPros.com

I purchased a refidgerator and need to haul laying down. Does this harm the unit and how long before I can run it after I unload it.

Most manufacturers recommend leaving the refrigerator unplugged for at least 24 hours after it's set back upright.
