This is my first time so I have entered this twice, once as a New Thread and once on the reply end of bryanb's question. Sorry, just looking for help
I am having a problem and have had for 5 yrs - that is how long I have lived in this house, the unit is 8.5 yrs old. It will make ice like no tomorrow for a few months and then will stop suddenly - will usually chug like the unit is starving for water. We clean and clean - sometimes it works and sometimes you just turn it off and on, over and over again and it will usually work - sometimes this takes a few weeks
This time however, the tank seems to be low on water, the pump 'chugs' and the ice that is formed does not drop off of the plate, it will only make ice on the initial startup. We have cleaned about 5 times and today I have confirmed that all of the devices work with the test equipment available to me.
One of the recommendations was to change the supply water valve - it is getting some water through the valve, maybe not enough?? Any help would be appreciated.
